GO UTES!

So for the big rivalry game, Tyler of course had tickets. My fam who may be the biggest BYU fans alive were getting together to watch, (which I literally couldnt have cared less about) This game has always been a big game with Ty and my family. They are always teasing each other. In fact, I think my dad is the mascot (Cosmo the Cougar). We are always asking him if he is ready to perform at halftime and stuff. I showed up in my Utes stuff just for fun. Masen was in Utes stuff with red hair and I put Konner (since he doesnt have a say) in a blue shirt and used some blue hair gel on the 5 strands of locks that he has! It was a fun time. Utes win. And I'm pretty sure there were tears rolling down their faces.

Twilight? Yes Please!

So I have been thinking about how funny it is that I went to Twilight, and enjoyed it. I was laying in bed at 10:30 pm on premiere night (tickets in my back pocket) trying and hoping for a quick cat nap before the midnight showing... It didnt happen. I was watching the news laughing at all the nerds at the premiere wearing prom dresses! Ha ha. In my fury I hoped to set them on fire for acting in such a manner. We made hilarious jokes about babies breath for updos and to not to forget our wrist corsages. Anyways, my friend Amber had practically rented out a theater, (or bought like 20 tickets whichever was cheaper) and I was amongst the chosen to go! Me and sweet cousin Karah met at the Megaplex madness and went inside! I felt like I was doing something wrong leaving the house at 11 ish (it felt like sneaking out) I got all gussied up for a big night out with the girls. The truth is, I didnt have a car seat on my arm, a diaper bag or puke on my shoulder so I was thrilled. We got our popcorn and drinks and hurried in, it was like the first time ever I had walked in with the lights still on. Weird. So, the previews start and the Harry Potter garbage shows up (the crowd loved it of course) Witches and vampires are still on the same list I guess?? BOO! And someone yells out from the crowd "I love you Harry!" What? I almost stormed out. The show started and I loved it. I have spent my entire life making fun of those reading and watching anything with vampires propaganda and I am now one of them. I used to give my brother so much crap for loving Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings and I'm like the next step from them. I cant wait for the next movie, (when that dreamy Jacob shaves his hair) purr... Im a creep I know, but at least I will never give in to Star Wars or other such nonsense because I still hate space.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

SO THIS YEAR WAS PRETTY FUN. ALOT MORE WORK WITH 2 KIDS. WE HAD 2 COSTUME PARTIES AND THEN HALLOWEEN. I CANT PASS UP A THEME SO I DECIDED THE SIMPSONS WAS A FUN ONE. LOTS OF SPRAY PAINT, YELLOW FACE PAINT AND PLANNING, BUT I THINK IT WORKED OUT OK! I WAS HOMER (AS I HAVE THE CHUBBIER BUILD) AND TY WAS MARGE, MASEN WAS BART AND KONNER WAS MAGGIE (BINKY AND ALL). WE DIDNT HAVE A LISA, SO MAYBE WE'LL RESURRECT THIS COSTUME AGAIN WHEN WE GET A GIRL? (WE DIDNT WIN THE "BEST COSTUME" PRIZE THIS YEAR LIKE WE DID LAST YEAR, WITH THE 'OOMPA LOOMPAS') BUT WE WILL TRY AGAIN NEXT YEAR! AFTER DRESSING UP TWICE I DECIDED WE DIDNT WANT TO DO IT AGAIN, SO MASEN GOT HIS WISH AS SPIDERMAN! KONNER WAS OUR LITTLE PEA POD. WE HAD A GOOD TIME, AND IM SURE GLAD ITS OVER!

Queen Maddee!

My cousin Maddee was up for Homecoming Queen at Fremont High and she asked Masen to escort her at the assembly. I went and found a tie that I thought would match perfect and ordered a pin stripe shirt and had it shipped overnight just in case! The shirt was almost a perfect match! We had to be there at like 7:30 (No wonder I didnt go to assemblies in high school) Masen walked out on the stage with tons of screaming teens and flashing lights and waited there with a rose for Maddee to come up. She bent down and hugged him and boy was he shy! He did really good and now he says "Mom, I love that Maddee, next time I 'scort her I will kiss her on the hand." Everyone had their bets on Maddee to win! Even though she didnt, she made little Masen's day, and you bet he thinks she's his Queen!

San Francisco Treat

So last weekend Konner and I flew out to stay with my bestest friend in the whole world Mar. Me and Mar (Marianne James Erekson) have been best friends for nearly 25 years! Since we were 3! I have officially known her longer than any of my brothers. We had a great time. She has a sweet baby Charlie that is just 10 days older than Konner. They got along splendidly except Charlie seems to have an entire head of lush hair (that we were both a bit jealous of) and more brain activity than Konner. Its ok, I'm enjoying his silence and immobility. Tyler flew down on Friday night for a fun weekend and we went to the 49er game! We got really good seats on the front row, they played the Philadelphia Eagles. It was a super good game they almost won! (Tyler has been #1 fan since Joe Montana was there) I went along, smiled and cared for those 3 hours ( it was weird. ) So we got lots of pictures of the Kon and Char playing and staring at each other. Me and Mar were in the same situation (nursing) so it meant careful planning and when we ran out of time, we pulled over in a park in San Fran! Super classy! I also got to see the charming city of Oakland. About 5 minutes after pulling through the drive thru at In-n-Out I saw a guy steal a ladies purse and put it under his shirt. I of course flagged down a cop, yada yada yada, police report and quick ride in the cop car to identify the freaker,( which didnt turn out to be him!) It was a special time!We ate at really good restaurants and got to see the Blue Angels fly over the city in fleet week. We met some of their friends and they learned how classy we were when we came in with our 44 oz of love (i.e. big gulps) Dont worry they were sipping wine, we were guzzling pop and being awesome. I felt like I should have been wearing overalls and a weed sticking out of my teeth. It was super fun and Mar and me sat up late one night giggling about high school, the people we hated (and still do) and the good ole times! I cant believe so much has changed and now we are raising our own kids! Thanks for such a fun weekend Mar and Josh. We loved it!

Circus+Carnies= Creepy

So we took Masen to the circus last night. It was really fun! Expensive but fun! There were all sorts of cool things! Elephants, tigers, horses, motorcycles, clowns, trapeze artists, and lots of weird things too. Like at this one part 4 goats came out riding on a trailer pulled by some tiny ponies with blue feathers! I got the giggles. Some of the tigers were getting angry and snapping at the trainer and I actually thought that we would witness one of those "When good times go bad" shows or "When Animals Attack!" Anyways it was my first time at the circus and Masen's too. And there was carnie food too! I love love cotton candy (which Masen calls 'smushmellow' )! Masen got a sword that we like had to take out a 2nd mortgage for! But at least he had fun! Konner fell asleep he was pretty bored but we had a great time! Afterwards as we were walking to our car, Masen stopped and did sommersaults all the way to the car, and then said he was going to be in the circus. Yikes! What a special child!

The Poop Parade!

I somehow managed to block out something that happened on the 4th of July. Its a tiny bit funny, now. All the Hales cousins with their babies/children rode on this really cute float that said "My Roots Began in Blossom" (Blossom is a town sort of discovered by my Grandpa and there is really like 20 people in it. Its a town inside a town in Warren) Anyways, so we get on the float and the kids are like vegetables in the garden and Masen was a farmer on his tractor. Seriously a darling float. All these sweet baby faces! We get done with the Plain City parade and head down to Warren and I go to lift Konner up, and he has had a gynormous blow out (like dripping... I just threw up in my mouth a little) onto his blanket and I think maybe on my cousin Jena too! (sorry for the details) Anyways, the pictures are of my discovery and how pissed I was to have to get off the float! Boo! So, hence Poop Parade! Another classy moment by the Thomas'!

WERE BACK..AGAIN!

HEY! Its been awhile since I have blogged! I keep hearing all about it, and I'm super sorry ok!? I promise to do better now! We have had a busy summer! Swimming lessons, swimming at friends houses, birthday parties, lots of ballgames, parades, playing with friends, picnics, preschool started, camping, road trips to Idaho! We have had some fun! The boys are such fun. Masen says all sorts of funny things like to our friends "Sometimes my mom yells at me and I swak her on the butt and my daddy, he always swaks her butt!" That's fun to hear. His favorite things right now are Tom and Jerry cartoons and playing football with his daddy. (He counts all 4 downs each time) He is a good helper with his "sweety boy" and Konner laughs and smiles at him all day long! Konner just started eating his fruits and veggies. He loves them and gets so excited about it! Masen is totally potty trained, yahoo, and occasionally I find him in our front yard and at the football games by the bleachers just peeing cause he had to! (classy) So other than that, we have been doing the same old stuff. Masen caught his first fish this summer (with his spiderman fishing pole) and the best part was that he and Averie Rasmussen were catching a few by the grownups with their Spiderman and Princess poles and the real fishermen werent catching anything! We have had a good summer and are kindof sad its over already!

Konner is a fatso!

We have some really great news everybody. Konner has 3 chins and is a little bit of a fatso. He has nearly tripled his weight in 3 months. It's almost as if he wasn't ever a preemie! He is such a sweet boy. I cant believe I got such a little angel. He never makes a peep. And when he does, he's hungry and quickly forgets about it when I feed him. He just smiles and is starting to giggle. Look at the pictures of him and his funny brother.

We're Back...

So for anyone reading (or not reading my blog) I'm really sorry about my lack of commitment. Life has been a little hectic around here. But we are back from vacation and I am officially ready to blog. We have been in Yellowstone for nearly a week. I love camping, but a week is a little much with a 3 monther. It was really fun. Tyler and I came to a conclusion... Yellowstone should be done once a decade... or even better a lifetime. Just kidding. We did have fun. We went with Tyler's family. It was super fun. Lots of laughing, fishing, card playing, good food, and fun. However, there was way too much driving. Tyler and I have come to realize if we cant see things from the road and snap pictures, we arent really interested. I dont want to hike or learn anything on a trip. Lots of relaxing and as little thinking as possible, please. We rode in the car for 10 hours the first day, a good 6 the next 3days each and the last day was another 10. That is a long time. And I wasn't the one strapped in the car seats. We have the best kids. Konner didn't make a peep as usual. And Masen told me he wanted to shoot me in the face only once. (angel) So it was a good trip. We saw lots of animals and on the first day we stopped at Bear World. Masen got to ride on the rollercoaster, the train, another few rides and then did the petting zoo. He had a great time. It's good to be home, but now I have to start on laundry... A mothers work is never done!

Masen Turns 3!

As you can see, I didn't blog for so long. This was in the "drafts" for like 2 weeks. Waiting for me to compose. We have alot to say and talk about. Masen had his 3rd birthday on Thursday and we had a fun party. It was supposed to be a swim party outside with about 15 friends, and of course with my luck the sun never came out. It was downright cold. We had the works, swimming pool, slip n slide, water balloons, otter pops, squirt guns, leis, and sun glasses for everyone! Not a single ray of sunshine to worry about. This is how my life goes. I've accepted it. Although I was pretty upset and flustered. We had a good turn out. We played "I have a little doggy and he wont bite you" (highlight of the party) It was a kickin party and I hope no one ended up sunburned. Masen got a lot of fun stuff. He loved the day being all about him. It was fun. I cant believe my little monster is 3. The time has flown by. He is so fun and says the funniest things. We were in Yellowstone taking pictures of a moose and a guy with big curly red hair bent over by us and Masen looks right at him and says "Mom, he has cweepy hair" (a little too much hair dresser talk apparently) Also the other day we saw a yellow hummer drive past us and Ty and I heard him mumble to himself, "I tink I just saw a school bus or sumping" We still laugh about it. Another hilarious comment is when he asks after we have mad him angry "Do you want to see my fury?" He loves to give Konner lots of kisses (but its usually with lots of slobber and sometimes tongue... creepy) My mom says to enjoy these moments that these are the days you end up missing the most of, even when you catch them coloring on your walls or chewing a wad of gum they found in the garbage at the ballgame.

Kissing Cousins...

So all the Hales girls got together the other day for a breakfast and to catch up. Jena was in town from Colorado with sweet Lily and we got the babies altogether for the first time ever! We had the breakfast at Kami's and sat and talked for a couple hours. I was a nervous wreck with Masen running wild in her house. (Thanks for being patient with him, Kam! Next time we can have it at mine.) It is fun to see what just a few years will do to a family. We have grown so fast (mostly my waistline) I love comparing funny stories, and getting and giving advice on new mom products. We have such a great time together!
