So we completed the half marathon. I barely want to talk about it. I came in over an hour after Tyler. Just as I thought. Oh well. The results of the race are as follows: Cheree Stewart killed us at 1 hr 52 min, Trent Thomas 1 hr 58 min, Tyler 2 hr 12 min, Branden Thomas 2 hr 28 min, Dusty Thomas 3 hr, Tj Thomas 3 hr, Tesha 3 hr. 22 min, Jen Thomas 3 hr. 30 min, Holly Thomas 3 hr. 45 min. Oh well we all finished and had a good time. I loved the energy of the race and felt really good the whole way thru. Mile 8 is what injured most of us!:) I was disappointed I had to walk after that but maybe I will do better next time. Tyler got a charley horse on mile 8 and had to walk that one too! We were so stiff and sore after the race we looked like we were 100. We went to a movie that night and I stood and looked into the back seat debating what would be the best way to get in.. jump in on my belly or swing in from the handle above the door... People kept asking us what was wrong with all of us. OOPS.. Maybe we should train a little better so we can move next time. Did I just say "next time" Sometimes I say crazy things.
The week before that my family went to St. George to watch my cousin Judd Thompson play ball at Dixie. He is the QB and that was Homecoming. Masen went up to him after the game with a pen and the roster and asked for his autograph. It was so cute. He was just in awe of him. It was a fun weekend. We love it there. Great weather. And the boys even got to meet their Grandpa and Grandma Thomas for the first time. It was a nice visit. We had such a great time in sunny St. George. We wish we had a place there!
The next post will probably of Halloween and my little brother Trent coming home from his mission from Brazil! November 19! Hooray!

HAPPY FALL, Y'ALL!

I havent done a post in a long while, mostly because my computer wont read my memory stick so I cant update any of my many many pictures. Which bothers me. So, I will update them when I can figure out what's up. We have had a fun busy summer. The boys are growing up and I cant believe my baby is 19 months old! They play so good together and also wrestle and make each other laugh and cry. Konner just slugs Masen right in the face now and I love that he is fighting back. Konner seriously doesnt utter a single word except "MOM" and its super annoying (like a goat). Not a single word. Its ridiculous. He knows exactly what's being said and nods when he needs something but not a word. Masen is playing his first season of soccer (which Tyler says isnt a real sport) he had a really good first 2 weeks making goals and all sorts of things and now he is sort of frolicking around the field. Its making me crazy! No aggressiveness at all, he's almost sashaying around. I could scream. Preschool is in and Masen is doing really good. He is almost back to what he was last year when school ended. (so we took a few steps backward over the summer, no big) Tyler has season tickets to the Utes and Jazz. And also spends alot of time hunting and talking about fantasy football. So its hard to pay attention when he talks right now. I cant wait to see him around springtime. I'm just doing dodgeball and young women stuff. Oh, I failed to mention Ty and I signed up for a half marathon in Moab which will take place this Sunday the 18th. (It will ruin my life is what I meant to say.) I hate running period. I really hoped to catch some sort of running "bug" and love it . Except I want to cry when I think about running for 13 miles. Mostly because I know I wont even run half because I'm superfit. And again, Tyler will run without training as always and succeed. While I fail miserably again, and still look like a T-rex racing to the finish. I cant wait. My goal is to throw down a 5 hour energy drink and run like the wind and pray to not get scooped up on that bus that will drive through about 3 hours later picking up the stragglers. BOO! In other news, Blake and Tracie got married in September and it was such a great day! Everything about it was beautiful! We are so happy for them, they are so great together! And last but not least, my lil bro Trent is coming home from Brazil on November 19, YAY! What a great day it will be to have him home so he can meet both Tracie and Konner! We cant wait! We are counting down the days! (And does anyone know where I can pick up a nasty strain of swine flu before Sunday?)

SAD STORY!

day 3

day 4

So, Im sure my grandma will love me posting her pictures for all to see, but on Wednesday my sweet grandma Maxene while pulling weeds fell on her head on the asphalt after getting her foot caught up on a half retaining wall. She laid there and called for help but no one could hear her, so she drug herself inside and up the stairs (like 15) and looked in the mirror. She scared herself and called my grandpa. When he got there he called the ambulance and she was in the hospital til today, Saturday!The goose egg was the size of a baseball when the ambulance got to the hospital. My mom sent pictures to which I answered"excuse my language, but holy shit!" At least her eyebrows look awesome! They did cat scans and a heart test, all of which she passed with flying colors. Here is a daily journal of her injury! Not for the faint! Get better soon Grandma! We love you! (And leave the yard work to us)

I better be skinny in the morning...

.

So, a while back my sweetest cousin Jena asked if I wanted to run a marathon, my answer- hell no! How about a half marathon? well maybe. But then Tyler told me it was like running from our house to his parents in the furthest corner of Hooper. Again, nope. So I decided maybe I could rope some cousins/ sisters-in-law into doing a relay. You break the 26.2 miles up between 5 of you. And I'm a baby rhino, so thats awesome. Anyways, Saturday was the big day and I had never ran more than 3.3 miles (5k) (because I hate running) My cousins Emily Farr ran 7 miles, Maddee Hales ran 6, sister in law Laura Hales ran 5, I ran 5, sister in law Holly Thomas ran 3. But Laura just kept running (think Forrest Gump), and so she ran the next 5, and then we both ran (I walked mostly) 3 more miles. Laura trained for 5 and ran the half marathon. It was awesome. I probably walked 1.5-2 miles and ran the rest (8 miles total) . And Jena Hales Hendry ran the whole 26.2! (That will never be my goal) But I am so proud of everyone that did it ! I am so proud of myself even though that's nothing to normal people. Our team crossed the finishline in 4 hr 30 min. That night we had a dodge ball charity tournament, 2 more hours of full on ball playing. We won the whole thing! It was so fun. Until that night when Tyler told me he had lost 7 lbs since going back to work! What?! I just ran for like 5 hours straight and you lost weight? I could barely roll over in bed on Sunday morning, I had to take stairs sideways and I couldnt even muster out a cough because my lungs and ribs were all on fire. And his pants are loose. Thats seems super fair. All I can say is, I better be freaking skinny in the morning!

Pictures of the boys

Here are some fun pictures of the boys. They turned out cute, even though it was cold and they have tired eyes in some. The girls name is Kellie Hales her blog is kelliehalesphotography.blogspot.com. Kellie is (get ready for this) my brother Blake's girlfriend, Tracie's older sister. She is great. Lots of patience and talent. Thanks again Kellie!

To my Valentines!!

Happy Valentines Day to my boys! I am surrounded by boys! But they are the best.

Ty is my best friend. We have so much fun together and he makes me laugh like nobody else. I have had the best time with him being home. I will miss it when he goes back to work (which I fear is coming soon, details to come) I really know we are supposed to be together. He is for me!

Masen is a whining, mess right now at 3, but I'll tell you, he is funny. He is a good brother to Konner most of the time. And he says some really great one liners. He is mischevious and naughty but I love him and am thankful for him. He gives his brother kisses all day long, nearly suffocating the poor boy. And says "I love my brother"

Konner could not be a sweeter child. He is an angel that literally never makes a peep. His brother tortures and mauls him all day, and he smiles and giggles at him whenever he walks in the room. He loves me no matter how many times I yell at the older one, and snuggles with me all the time.

No girls yet to put frilly bows in their hair, or put cute dresses on, and curl their hair. These boys will just have to do, I guess I will manage with them...

I heart my job!

Have I said this enough lately? I love my job. I do hair and permanent makeup and it is the best job ever. I meet alot of great people and get to spend my days doing what I love most, hair, makeup and talking! I was thinking of all the great benefits of my business and I am so grateful for a job that gives me such satisfaction and countless reasons to be thankful.
* I will never go through "company downsizing"
* I make my own schedule and work for and by myself (thank the man above)
* Women are bitchy, period.
* I make great money.
* I can and am supporting my family right now.
* I can tan anyday, anytime. Free!
* I get makeup and hair products cheap!
* People have to drive to me, regardless of the weather.
* I cheer up my clients by making them look better!
* I have a really great sitter right now, his name is Tyler!

I love my job. (Even if some of my "clients" have hickeys on their necks, or are missing some of their teeth)

NEW YEAR, BAD NEWS!

I havent posted anything in a while cause we have had a string of some bad luck and I keep hoping that if I dont address it, it will go away! On Christmas Day, Konner started with a cough, and by the 30th, we found out it was RSV! BOO. Then we found out that Tyler's employer for 11 years was shutting their doors, leaving Ty without a job. Our most recent discovery (besides praying for the cough to not return and some wonderous job to appear!) was that Wasatch hasnt bothered to pay our health insurance during December. Which included about 5 claims to insurance hoping to finish up our deductibles and surgery to put tubes in Masen's ears. What a special Christmas Season this was for us. The good news is I have been spending lots of time in my tanning bed because it makes me feel happy. Cant wait to see what '09 brings... Hopefully a better job and an awesome tan.
