Happy Easter!

Easter this year was pretty uneventful. I ended up staying at home with Konner. Masen and Tyler went to his parents for a family dinner and an Easter egg hunt. The pinata was brought out as usual as it is a holiday tradition. Someone usually ends up getting slugged in the head or neck with the bat, always a good laugh and usually caught on film for many years of laughter. Although we didn't this year, due to an overabundance of babies, the Hales family usually goes to a place called "Little Mountain" where we sit in lawn chairs and have potluck. Roasting hot dogs over an open fire and watching cattle roam through doesn't exactly say "Easter" to everyone. But it was always fun, and didn't seem like Easter this year without the egg hunts or lawn chairs... (I was cooped up in the house all day actually missing the hot dogs and the Peeps, ok just the Peeps.) My family stopped over for a while, bringing along "American Idol" for the wii. I suck at it, and watched my sister- in -law Laura rock it. I'm pretty sure she got a perfect score, which explains her scholarship as a music major. Too bad I suck. Even Blake was better than me. Whatever. So this year I wore 'my Peeps' shirt and celebrated Easter at home.

Announcing Konner Hales Thomas!

What a surprise it is to go to a "routine" dr visit and come home with a baby! We had our little man on March 13, 2008, about 3 1/2 weeks early! He weighed in at 4 lbs and 8 oz. and 17.5 inches long. I went in and did the usual appointment stuff. When they took my blood pressure the nurse said it was really high. Like 160/ 102. So we tried it again. Like the next problem would be seizures?! Excuse me? My doctor came in and said if she didn't deliver that day it would for sure be by 38 weeks. So she sent me to the hospital. I almost started crying. I didn't have "time" to have a baby! My schedule was too busy trying to get everyones appointments in before I had him in April! I quickly found out it really didn't matter about my plans, cause someone else had different ones. BOO! Oh well, it was meant to be. Never in my life have I had even one case of high blood pressure and all the sudden I was induced!! The labor went great. (except I thought I was on fire at one point, and puking my guts out at another.) Konner is super tiny but so healthy. He didn't need to be in the NICU or anything. He came home with us on Saturday and is so sweet. The real problem seems to be now that my milk is officially "in" or should I say get out the hoses because this is ridiculous. The lactation consultant informed me today I am producing enough for triplets. Oh goody, because I barely have one baby not 3! Does anyone know if you can sell your milk? Oh and my cankles are back, and now I have bear paws too. Its glamorous being a mom, but worth it.

Why do I have cankles? Anyone...

Um, everyday I wake up feeling pretty good. As the day wears on, and the longer I stand in one place (doing hair) my ankles disappear. I seem to have to check them every night. What has happened to me? I did not swell with Masen. I realize I never pick the most sensible shoes but its never about comfort right? Its always about cute shoes. And I guess I forfeit my ankles in an attempt to make my legs look a little longer and my wedges to go with what I'm wearing. I'm pretty pissed, and hope each pregnancy doesn't continue to make me look like a baby rhino. boo!
